Boring #2

May 18 is historic in that it was the day Mt. St. Helens blew her top. It happened again though this time it was my wife blowing chunks. Upchuck 2 was boring though. It was at the house again. But...at least this was in the upstairs bathroom. So at least she mixed it up a little.

And We're Off!

The journey has begun! We have a first official puke! Last night the wife tossed her cookies, she blew chunks, she hurled, she let it fly. Actually, it was soup. Officially: May 17, 2011 at 9:53pm MDT the first puke of this celebrated pregnancy took place. It was mostly a boring puke. It happened in the bathroom at our home in Brighton, CO. I was just crawling into bed for the night, and Dayna looked at me in panic and said, "Here, take the baby quick!" She ran for the bathroom and I heard the sounds of the anticipated first puke. Glorious? I don't think so. It's just the start of this journey.

Here's the deal

So here's the deal. With my wife's first pregnancy, with our daughter Eliot, she literally puked all over the place. We couldn't drive anywhere, practically, without making some sort of swerving crazy NASCAR-style-going-into-the-pits exit from the road for her to throw her door open and BLAAAAAAAH all over the place. When all this was going down I said I really should be mapping all the places she blew chunks. It covered at least a 5 state area. We know intimately all the restrooms and hurl-friendly stops between our home in Brighton, Colorado and my parents home in Nathrop, Colorado. And we knew the fastest routes from many parking lots to the many restrooms inside many eating and shopping establishments.

So my wife is pregnant again. Yes, it was planned. It, in fact, is a surrogate pregnancy for a some wonderful friends of ours. And this blog is going to chronicle my wife's adventures in puking. And it's also for me to sort of keep tally of the events. To see if the number of barfs really lives up to how much I thought it was 2 years ago with her first pregnancy. And also to draw a map of how far and wide she Tosses Her Cookies.

Cheers!
